The difference lies in how they are received. If a co-worker or supervisor says or does anything that makes you uncomfortable, you have every right to ask him or her to stop. If the behavior continues and begins to make you feel unsafe at work, it is sexual harassment. “Joking around” is not an excuse to make people feel hurt, vulnerable, or afraid.
